Prospective Student Officer

Position Summary

The Prospective Student Officer (China) is often the first point of contact for prospective students and plays a critical role in representing RMIT in an appropriate manner and encouraging prospective students to take advantage of what RMIT has to offer.

As a member of the   Study@RMIT   Team, they will participate in both inbound and outbound interactions with future international students from the China audience, engaging in needs-based conversations to help them bring their vision for the future to life. You will be a subject matter expert on everything RMIT, proactively promoting tailor-made solutions and the benefits of studying at RMIT.

They will serve as Case Manager to a pipeline of prospective students for various stages of the applicant journey, including initial enquiry, application, offer and enrolment in order maximise conversion to meet and exceed international student recruitment targets.

They will manage a number of contact channels including Phone, Email, Live Chat, WeChat and any new and emerging channels, meeting and exceeding competitive student recruitment sales targets whilst ensuring accurate and careful maintenance of a CRM database.

Although the role will be predominantly working from home, this role will also require flexibility of working   as directed by line manager   to be in the office or attending in country events as needed.

Key Accountabilities
  • Engage in meaningful needs-based conversations with international prospective students from the Chinese audience across various stages of the sales pipeline, building a positive relationship, unearthing study motivations and ultimately converting the student from prospect to enrolment.
  • Serve as subject matter expert for the International China Prospective Student Audience and provide consistent meaningful insight back into the business to shape future student recruitment efforts.
  • Work in collaboration with the wider International Recruitment squads in order to align and coordinated sales and recruitment activities.
  • Ensure detailed and quality lead capture through conversations with prospective students in order to maintain an effective sales pipeline for upcoming and future intakes.
  • Develop and leverage cross-functional working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure delivery of effective direct marketing campaigns and customer experience.
  • Gather and provide meaningful audience insights on the audience to help shape and inform future marketing and recruitment activities.
  • Meet and exceed individual and team KPIs in order to contribute to overall University student recruitment targets.
  • Assist and contribute when required across activities within the greater university community to support the broader team in reaching recruitment targets and general support across the recruitment and admission teams.


Key Selection Criteria
  • Fluent in both Chinese (Mandarin) and English languages is essential.
  • Demonstrated experience in sales enquiry management and case management.
  • Demonstrated experience in international student recruitment highly regarded.
  • Fluent in both Chinese Mandarin and English is essential, Cantonese speaking is advantageous.
  • Experience with CRM for capturing lead and case data based on conversation with prospective students as well as managing, maintaining a sales pipeline.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, including the capacity to manage time effectively.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, including skills in persuasion, information exchange and relationship management.
  • Ability to use multiple systems simultaneously, and work well under pressure whilst meeting KPI’s.   
  • Demonstrated ability to show initiative and flexibility, a willingness to take on new challenges, work with minimal supervision, and organise workload to ensure timely completion of tasks.

Skills that are highly valuable are:
  • Experience using Salesforce (CRM)
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Influencing and sales skills
  • Customer focused individual who has empathy for those they deal with and a polite and friendly manner


SALARY RANGE

An attractive remuneration package commensurate with qualifications and experience is provided.
