Humanities Teacher
The role of the Humanities Teacher instruct students and provide Humanities lessons to students from different backgrounds and cultures, plan lessons and activities, adopt a creative approach, and encourage and motivate students to learn. They conduct lessons and create a pleasant learning environment, while taking students' differences and needs into account; and is essential to and build and maintain a successful Primary Years Programme (PYP), Middle Years Programme (MYP) and International General Certificate of Secondary Education Programme (IGCSE) within the school by providing an educational atmosphere conductive to learning and developing through the process of inquiry.Principal Accountabilities & Other Descriptions

This is not an exhaustive list of all duties/responsibilities:
【Teaching, Learning and Assessment】- Plan and Conduct activities and lessons based on Humanities teaching methodologies. Create an environment that is conducive to learning and encourage and engage students to interact with each other to improve their communication and thinking skills.
- Displaying excellent classroom management, Creating a supportive and positive classroom environment. Inspire mixed culture and ability classes, by creating challenging and engaging learning opportunities for all students.
- Create individualized plans for students with special requirements (e.g. learning disabilities).
- Assess and monitor student progress and provide targets so that all learners can see success and improve. Maintain records of student attendance and grades.
- Research new teaching methods for teaching Humanities subjects. Collaborate with other teachers to share new ideas, approaches and professional knowledge.
- Communicate accurately and regularly with parents.
- Communicate with the Head of the Humanities and/or PYP/MYP/IGCSE Coordinators as needed to ensure effective delivery of the curriculum to specified classes, including selecting resources and managing them efficiently in the classroom.
- Contribute to the extra-curricular activities programme and participate in school activities such as assemblies, evening events, and conferences.
- Maintain constant awareness of the needs of any children to whom English is another language.
【Pastoral and Wider Community】
To use non-contact time during school hours to prepare for upcoming activities, participate in team meetings and be available for cover.
To interact with students using a positive, supportive, respectful and open-minded attitude, language and tone, and to support and sustain the school’s codes of conduct.
To always remain alert to the safety and well-being of the students, and on any off-site activities.
To support students’ social and emotional growth.
To recognize that as role models for students, one’s own personal conduct and the example of behaviour set must be of the highest standards.
【Other Duties】
To attend and participate in staff meetings, departmental meetings, and other meetings as required.
To maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
Responsible for participating in work-related or educational activities outside regular working hours, as directed by the Head of School and School Leadership Team.
To communicate in a positive, supportive, and professional manner with parents (written and verbal) on an ongoing basis.
To conduct effective project-related events for families including presentations when required.
To establish and maintain a positive relationship of cooperation and respect with colleagues.
To contribute to the development of community among staff by having open and constructive communication and to be proactive in feeding ideas and suggestions for school improvement to the relevant responsible persons.
To maintain an attitude of continuous personal and professional development and improvement.
To maintain confidentiality and to model a professional work ethic.
To represent the broader SIA philosophy, mission, Vision and values to parents, staff, and community.

Previous experience as a Humanities subject teacher or similar role.
Knowledge of various methods of teaching to native and non-native speakers.
Great organizational and communication skills.

Ability to handle classroom crises.
Essential minimum of a bachelor’s degree in any Humanities or similar field.

1. 教育学专业背景，具备高中数学教学经验，国际学校教学经验优先考虑。
2. 具备纯英文授课能力，雅思成绩6.0及以上，能够熟练运用英语进行教学。
3. 具备教师资格证优先考虑。
4. 具备指导PBL项目经验者优先考虑。
5. 具备良好耐心的沟通能力和团队合作精神，能够与同事和家长保持良好的沟通和合作关系。
